History of Mummola

The name of Heidi's grandmother's farm comes from the fact that it was originally founded by Heidi's father's parents, Linda and Hugo Pantsar. The farm has remained in the family throughout the years and continues to operate today with a focus on tourism and recreation under Heidi's leadership.

The story of Heidi

Heidi moved to the farm in 2009 and started working as an agricultural clerk, during which time the idea of having her own tourist farm was born.

"Hey! I'm Heidi, originally from the village of Songa in the rural municipality of Rovaniemi. My first profession is as a producer of tourism programme services and my second profession is as a farmer. In addition to these, I have attended many different courses (e.g. Bee course) and participated in EU projects. I have spent many summers in Alposjärvi Mummolassa with my cousins when I was little and even though I always wanted to go to Mummolassa when I got older, it was sad to leave every time. I lived in the city for 7 years, studying and working in a safari company and selling Marttiini knives.

I dreamed of having my own tourist farm and step by step I went towards it, finally in 2010 the dream came true! Especially Lapland cows and Finnish horses are close to my heart. I am fluent in English and Swedish, I speak a little German, Spanish and Italian."
